Grace and Jazz's second baby

So to my surprise the eggs were not dried out! The second baby hatched yesterday. I'm so happy. I thought Jazz And Grace where only going to have one baby. Lets wait and see what this one looks like.

Gazz and Grace's first baby

One of Jazz and Grace's eggs hatched yesterday. I looked at the other eggs and it seems like they have dried out. This typically happens when the air is dry. The membrane on the inside of the egg can dry out, the egg shell also can dry out. This condition can cause the babies to die in the egg. Babies can also die as they try to breakout of the egg. Babies that hatch can also die shortly after hatching because of exhaustion.  The egg shell might be to hard for them to break through. The only ...

Grace & Jazz's four fertile eggs

Grace has stopped laying eggs. I looked at them today and they are all fertile! We will se if she keeps them rolling and in a couple of weeks they will hatch.

Fourth egg of the season

Fourth egg! I candled the eggs today and there seems to be two out of the four that are fertile. It is to soon to tell if the other two are fertile yet. I hope Grace knows how to role the eggs. If so I will have some beautiful babies on my hands.

Second egg of the season

Grace has laid her second egg. She seems to know what she is doing. She has been sitting on the eggs most of the day. Lets see if Jazz knows what he is doing. I will candle the eggs about five days after they are laid.

Grace has laid the first egg of the spring season! I'm not holding my breath, this is Grace's first egg. I'm not sure if she knows what to do with an egg yet. None the less I am still excited.

Royalty and Willow first sign of mating

Royalty has been making small baby chirps and vibrating her head at Willow around feeding time. This means she will be ready to mate soon and is getting Willow ready to feed her and their newborn babies. This a great sign that Royalty and Willow will be mating soon. I predict they will be the first pair to lay eggs this season.
