The first egg

The first egg of the season was laid this morning by Bell. Dusty and Bell sit in the nest together throughout the breeding season. Dusty is my only male that sits in the nest with Bell most of the time keeping her company. Here we go. Hold on.
 

Preparing for the fall breeding season

It's time to start up the breeding program for the fall season. I usually put the fall breeding pairs in their separate cages around mid summer. This way they can get use to their new surroundings and get ready to mate. This is also a good time to introduce new breeding pairs. This way they have time to bond before the rest of the flock starts to breed.

Now that I have slimed the flock down a bit all six pairs can breed at once. This season I'm going to be introducing one new breeding pair Ze...

Four budgies for sale

I have two adult American budgies for sale. One male, he has a light green body color with a yellow head and black wing pattern very talkative little boy. One female, she is almost pure white with a bit of violet on her back and very few grey stripes on her shoulders.

I also have two American English mix chicks are sale. One male, he is an albino. One female, she is light yellow allover with a couple black specks on her shoulders and a blue spot on her back and belly.

Chick update

Eddy and Alba's chicks
The chicks are doing great. They are still in the nest being fed by Alba and Eddy. The smallest chick still looks kinda like a little pincushion. But the three older chicks are feathering out nicely. I will start hand feeding them soon.

Only one of their eggs hatched. The others where duds. The chick is still very pink and doesn't have its pin feathers just yet.

Spring chicks

They have laid another clutch and now have four chicks.

#2 albino chick
#3 albino chick
#4 I'm not yet sure what this chicks color will be. It's pin feathers are yellow and it's eyes are dark. So I'm guessing a normal green or maybe spangle or dominant pied green.

He is almost ready to go home. He is feeding himself, he no longer sleeps in the nest and he perches with the adults.

Normal, blue, pied spot on the top of his head
He has gotten out of the nest. He perched outside the nest trying to beg for food.

#2 is either Eddy and Alba's 
Lutino 
The lutino chick has gotten out of the nest. It doesn't know how to perch yet. It was scared in the corner of the cage. I put it back in the nest. Ever since then every time I cover the birds at night the chicks scream.

The chick looks like a big bird now. He is vary nice cobalt single factor violet color.

#2 is either Eddy and Alba's or Petey and Stella's chick 
The lutino chick has stayed lutino. There isn't any cinnamon markings.

The spangle chick also looks like she is dominant pied, she maybe cinnamon and her body color looks grey. When she was still pink I thought her eyes looks a little plum.
