The chick is doing great. It is starting to get out of the nest but hasn’t figured out how to get back in just yet. I have had more opportunities to hand feed the chick because Violet only likes to feed it when it’s in the nest. Violet has started to lay her second clutch of eggs. I usually don’t get any chicks from the second clutch but we will see how things go. As of right now she is laying on two eggs and is still taking very good care of the chick. They grow up so fast almost all of the chicks adult feathers are in and only a small amount of baby fluff is left on its belly.
